About the Academy
Introduction & Legacy
The State Police Sub-Ordinate Services Training Academy is situated on a sprawling 120-acre modern campus. Established to deliver quality foundation training to directly recruited Sub-Inspectors (SIs) and reserve sub-inspectors, the academy is equipped with advanced administrative buildings, modern hostels, training classrooms, sports grounds, and state-of-the-art simulation labs.
Over the past decades, the academy has trained over 15,000 police personnel, serving with valor and distinction in state police forces and central units. Our training ethos is defined by three core anchors: Professional Skill Development, Character Building, and National Service.

To remain at the absolute vanguard of police education and technology, fostering a force that is scientifically capable, physically indefatigable, and highly responsive to dynamic law and order paradigms.
Mission
To train sub-ordinate police officers to execute their duties with professional skill, adherence to human rights, scientific investigative temper, high physical stamina, and a strong sense of accountability to the Constitution of India.
Core Objectives
- Conduct foundational and in-service training courses for Police Sub-Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and Cadet Officers.
- Build high physical standards through systematic parade drills, obstacle courses, endurance runs, and unarmed self-defense combat.
- Equip officers with sound legal awareness of the Constitution, state police manuals, IPC, CrPC, and specialized local laws.
- Introduce scientific techniques in forensic investigation, fingerprints analysis, crime scene documentation, and cybercrime forensics.

The Academy is administered under the overall guidance of the Department of Home Affairs, Govt. of Bihar, and is led by a Director General Rank Officer.

Firing Range Complex
Sop-compliant indoor and outdoor firing ranges for tactical handling of Glock pistols, INSAS rifles, and light machine guns.
Forensic & Cyber Crime Labs
Fully operational forensic testing room and a specialized computer lab for digital evidence gathering and network logs analysis.
Cadet Hostels
Clean, barracks-style and twin-sharing accommodations housing up to 1,200 cadets, featuring modern sanitation and water purifiers.
Gymnasium & Sports Complex
Equipped with modern fitness machines, weightlifting sections, and outdoor fields for football, basketball, and hockey.
Hospital & Mess Facility
A 15-bed institutional hospital with 24/7 doctor cover, and an industrial-scale dining hall serving calorie-tracked nutritious meals.

Training Overview
The academic training is structured into **Indoor Syllabus** (Law, Police Science, Human Rights, Criminology, Forensic Medicine) and **Outdoor Syllabus** (Physical Training, Drill, Arms Training, Unarmed Combat, Crowd Control tactics). Special emphasis is placed on field attachment programs in rural police stations, court chambers, and district headquarters.
